I thought these were rather nice looking boots & they go great with a pirate costume (particularly the Gold Doubloon Ladies Pirate Costume since it has the red bow on it -and then you can get the hat with the red bows).

Unfortunately, if you have large calves, you may not be able to wear them. I stuffed the boots pretty tightly with a towel and measured around the outside as best as I could in case it helps anyone, so here is a rough estimate (can't guarantee meausrements are accurate, but close, depending on exactly where you measure)- Around the ankle measured 11 1/2. The largest part of the calf was at 14 -14 1/2. Around the flap was about 16". If you are short and have short calves, this may hit around your knee. I measured from about the instep to the top of the boot and it was 15" to 16" high (depending on where exactly I put the tape measure). Hope that helps to give you an idea -remember this was the outside of the boot. You might could also get a little bit more room in certain areas by re-lacing, but I'm not sure.
