I purchased this prior to my surgery for total hip replacement of one hip. Someone told me that having just one side slanted felt a bit unbalanced and to maybe try this one since it would be the same for both legs. After using a regular raised seat in the hospital, I would say I prefer that one. This is very uncomfortable with only a small part of the seat actually raised. I used it for several weeks because I didn't want to get another one, but if I were to do it over again I would purchase the regular raised seat without the slanted sides. It works fine if you just move the foot of that hip forward before sitting down.
