These swabs are unflavored so there is no aversion to having them in your mouth. We purchased these for oral cleansing as well as mouth hydration for our child who does not swallow or eat by mouth. The sponge does not seem as firm as the pink swabs so they don't clean teeth as well as the pink ones do. However, since we wanted them for mouth hydration they do what we want them to do. They do soak up water well so if you have to be careful how much water goes into the mouth do be careful when swabbing. They have not fallen apart when using so I give them 4 stars. I would give them a 5 star if they were just a bit firmer.
